PROJECTS

Product Management System (PMS)

Overview

The Product Management System serves as a management tool for Operating Companies (OPCOS) to effectively oversee bundles, promotions, and their integration into the app. Its goal is to facilitate timely and efficient updates to bundles and promotions, ensuring they effectively reach the intended customers in alignment with marketing strategies and product offerings.

Problem Statement

Manually embedding promotion bundles into the code for app publication was the norm, necessitating the lead developer's presence just before midnight to manage additions or removals. However, this approach carries numerous risks, including scalability challenges, potential human errors, version control difficulties, and operational disruptions. Relying on developers to manually insert promotions, particularly during late hours, can disrupt standard operations and contribute to team fatigue or burnout.

My Approach

To understand the context of usage and user needs, I organized and carried out user interviews. From synthesizing the gathered data, the name Product Management System emerged. Subsequently, essential tasks were pinpointed, prioritized, and defined within the scope for the Minimum Viable Product (MVP).

Solutioning

I arranged and led a collaborative solutioning workshop involving various team members such as Architecture, Quality Assurance (QA), Business Analysis (BA), Product Owner (PO), Scrum Master (SM), as well as backend and frontend developers. Throughout the brainstorming session, I utilized a whiteboard to illustrate the solution visually, facilitating discussions and enhancing comprehension of technical feasibility as we iterated on the solution.

Following the session, I proceeded to create interactive wireframes to collect user feedback and showcase the complete concept.

The designs underwent multiple rounds of refinement, with the version displayed above representing an interim iteration and not the final version.

During Development

My team adhered to the Scrum methodology, conducting work in 2-week sprints. After the development of a specific ticket was finished, I implemented a Desk check procedure based on my prior experience. This involved verifying the task against scenarios, acceptance criteria, and UI designs. This approach demonstrated its efficiency in our workflow.

Digital Onboarding

Overview

Discovery sought to digitize their onboarding processes, encompassing offboarding and broker transfers. Digital Learning Factory

Overview

CSIR endeavors to cultivate an environment conducive to skill development and innovation, particularly in the research, design, and operations of Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies. Recognizing the potential of technology to generate employment opportunities, CSIR seeks to implement systems supporting the utilization of low-skilled labor in skilled tasks. Leveraging an existing skills development lab in Pretoria, CSIR aims to expand its reach and impact by extending these initiatives to a broader audience.
